Harbor House Inn makes you feel at home and is supremely comfortable.
We enjoyed the bicycles, the cordial welcome, the crib for our toddler, the beautiful interior decorating and the area.
We couldn't turn off the air-conditioner and it was very noisy and not necessary. We were a little bit cold and we didn't sleep well.
Excellent location for visiting/exploring Old Greenwich. Quaint, historic building. Staff was friendly, continental breakfast had a great variety and food was fresh.
Our room (we stayed in January) was incredibly hot and the boiler heat could not be turned down (at least not any further) in the room. Staff said they were unable to do anything about it, which is reasonable as it is a boiler, and recommended we open a window. Not really a problem for us, but others should know the rooms on the third floor, like ours, are only accessible via stairs.
Very unprofessional staff at our visit. AC out of order at check-in due to bad maintenance.
Lacks several features of hotels I frequent at a price well above the hotel price: convenient desk space with power outlet, early morning coffee, decaf coffee, elevator for upper rooms.
It was close to the beach It was clean and comfortable and bed was very comfy
For a bed and breakfast, it was a unwelcoming atmosphere , store bought foods, and a unreachable staff. We had sent in our request for their massages as advertised in their ad but never received a response back or at the B & B itself. The price was high compared to other high end hotels in the area but to us failed to compare.
It was easy to find and the distance to get into town was short.. which made going out for meals, etc, easy.
Stay out of the main floor guest rooms.. drafty with thin doors (large gaps below the doors allowing air, sound, & light) & don't expect a proper breakfast. For being a "bed and breakfast" we were very, very disappointed that all that was offered was some unattended choices... vending machine, cold cereal, coffee, toast, & a platter of room temperature hard boiled eggs (???) We have had better breakfasts in budget hotels. They really should have explained this better so we could have opted for a true bed & BREAKFAST instead.
